Green Chile Gold Dust, handwoven cotton twill hand towel, primary view

Green Chile Gold Dust

2026 – 31 x 17 in (79 x 43 cm)

Cotton, twill weave structure

This hand towel was woven during a demonstration at the 54th annual Sheep to Shawl at the New Mexico State Fair. My guild, the Las Arañas Spinners and Weavers Guild of Albuquerque, has been bringing fiber arts to the fair since the early 1970s, with natural dyeing, spinning wool, shearing sheep, carding fibers and weaving on 4 and 8 shaft looms. It’s one of my favorite events of the year, because I get to share the process and history of weaving with visitors.
